MarVista Bags Rights to Lifetime’s Inspector Mom Titles

LOS ANGELES, September 25: MarVista Entertainment has acquired the international distribution rights to Inspector Mom and Inspector Mom—Kidnapped in Ten Easy Steps from the Lifetime Movie Network.

The acquisition of the two television movies from Lifetime expands upon a well-established relationship between MarVista and the female-skewing network; MarVista has served as executive producer for several movies for Lifetime over the past three years.

In Inspector Mom, which debuted on the network November 18, 2006, Danica McKeller (Wonder Years, West Wing) plays a suburban mom of two who hunts down criminals. Whether it’s the murder of a bullying soccer coach, the poisoning of the judge of a bake-off or stalking the little old lady down the road, this mom is there to solve the crime.

The second movie in the franchise, Inspector Mom—Kidnapped in Ten Easy Steps, features additional cast members Scarlett McAlister (Wildfire), Ryan Brown (The Guiding Light) and Gocha Chertkoev (Ballroom Bootcamp). The movie, which aired on the network March 8, 2007, centers around solving a case where several moms are kidnapped and held for ransom after taking ballroom dancing lessons at a studio.
